Any non-EU foreign national wishing to work remotely from Greece is eligible if they are:

A) Self-employed or
B) A dependent employee for a period of up to twelve (12) months.

The Greek Consulate in the applicant’s primary place of residence is responsible for receiving applications for the Digital Nomad Visa. The applicant submits the application and required documents either in person or remotely (via email or letter). The Greek Consulate must respond within ten (10) days from the submission of the application and complete the visa issuance process.

Additionally, the ‘One-Stop Shop’ Department of the Greek Ministry of Migration and Asylum is responsible for issuing the Digital Nomad Visa.

A) Proof of Financial Stability: The applicant must provide evidence that they have sufficient and stable income to cover their living expenses while in Greece, without relying on the country’s social welfare system. The required amount is €3,500 per month, which can be proven through:

1. An employment contract, or
2. Bank statements.
   This amount refers to the net income after taxes in the applicant’s home country.

The amount increases by 20% for a spouse and by 15% for each dependent child.

B) Work Restrictions: During their stay in Greece, the main applicant, their spouse, or family members are prohibited from engaging in dependent employment or professional activities in Greece.

The Digital Nomad Visa is valid for up to 2 years.
The applicant and their family members can apply for a two-year Digital Nomad residence permit before the visa expires. This visa can be renewed every two years by submitting an application to the ‘One-Stop Shop’ Department of the Greek Ministry of Migration and Asylum.

The digital Nomad can be accompanied by their spouse and children till the age of 18 years old.
